    by far the most emotional and probably the best american composition ever is Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, if you haven't heard this peice and think you know anything about american music think again, even for those who don't know anything about classical music, should at least recognize this piece. if you have never heard of it, it was the soundtrack for the movie platoon, if you know it, listen to it if you don't know it listen to it.
