It’s Sunday night and I just got back from my cousins bar mitzvah in Michigan. I never thought it could get colder outside than we set our freezer at but it was the whole weekend. And there was SNOW!! Of course it was to cold to pack until about an hour before we left but we still had fun in it. The bar mitzvah was really cool, even though I’m not Jewish, on Friday night there was a dinner for the family and I met so many people that I lost track of names. Aunt Joyce, an aunt of my cousins (no relation to me) and I, got into a really deep conversation about theatre, and it turns out that she is a major role in new York theatre and is beginning to do movies, but anyway the conversation got so good that she offered to hook me up with a lighting job on BROADWAY if I ever went to work in new York. And of course, for those of you who really know me, I couldn't go without talk of politics, which took up the other half of the evening. Saturday morning was the service at temple Emanuel it was about 2 and a half hours but a really interesting experience after that I went to the local playhouse where my grandma is on the board of directors. I ended up talking shop with their lighting technician for about an hour, much to the dismay of my grandma who didn't understand a word of it. After that, there was the party, which was really fun. Who’d a thought that grandma could dance like that. And it wasn't just old people and 13 year olds there cousins from the Jewish side of the family that were my age. Their names were Sam, ally, Susan, and Katie. They were from Sacramento and in the same boat as us. We ended up dancing the night away and ended the night with my aunt Lynn singing proud Mary with my cousin Jessica, than with a flurry as we ran through the single digit temp. Weather. Sunday there was a brunch at a really nice equestrian club called the Bloomfield open hunt I mean really, nice. Like Bellaire of Michigan nice. (Bellaire is where all the rich people in LA live for those of you who don't know) the brunch was really good and all the cousins from both sides ended up sitting together. (Clash of the religions!) Then we left for the airport directly from the brunch. 6 hours later here I am. Sorry mina I couldn't bring back any snow it would have melted.
